I was sitting on the curb in The Haight wishing I could sink into the ground and disappear for like ever because I had just been carded and turned away from the coolest club in the city. The guy who had driven me and his friends over the Golden Gate Bridge, excited to be going to the coolest club in the city only to have me turned away at the door and kind of ruining their night–he sat down next to me and said, “Hey we’ve all been there. And you’re going to be 21 one day and you’ll wish you were still being thrown out of places for being underage.” Truer words were never spoken.

I haven’t been carded for awhile but at least I have a good place to keep my cards these days. The humble credit card holder is probably the most feted bag of the season. A variety of slim wallet possibilities are showing up everywhere from T Magazine to The Wall Street Journal Gift Guide (ranging in price from $195 to $710). We introduced our first credit card holder ($125-$170) earlier this year by request of the guys. However, ladies this is a great organizer to carry inside your wallet or clutch. Best of all, these luxe little stingray and leopard credit card holders are still the most affordable option of all the luxury brands popping up in gift-giving roundups.

P.S. Were you ever carded? Or were you one of those cool kids who knew how to rock a fake ID?

Make sure to check out our Inkkas Shoes giveaway below to win a pair of these shoes that probably would’ve gotten me into that club if only I’d owned a pair back in the day. The giveaway is open to all readers world wide and will be announced next Monday!

so pretty! i love that shade of blue that is so signature you to me now. i still get carded sometimes and i totally revert back to being an annoyed young adult when i do; i also get annoyed when i don’t get carded, so it’s lose-lose for a server 😉

These are beautiful…I love the bright blue one, it is stunning. I’ve been asked about my age when entering a place…though, I have done the opposite and been able to get into a club night for under 21’s as well, haha!! A band I like was having a teen night and asked me to come, so I just waited in line and got in as everyone said I look the same age as they do, so that was quite fun and weird being able to pass as a younger person as well. I liked it!! I hope you have a gorgeous week ahead my dear!! xx

I have been carded, even way into my late ’20s because I do look younger than I am (luckily I usually say, but sometimes I wonder). I love all of your card holders, but the leopard one remains my favourite. 🙂

hey mary jo! i got carded for the longest time. hahaha it’s stopped in the past years though. LOL i was kinda sad 😉 i love your card holders. they’re so chic! everything you make is. loved reading your story. i want to thank you for your sweet comment. it really touched my heart. i went through a lot. it’s something i’ll never forget. at first i didn’t want to talk about it, because it brought up a really difficult time in my life, but i thought it would tie in to the meaning of the post. so i went ahead and it may help others. with thanksgiving this week it makes me appreciate the things i have. gives it a whole new meaning. so thank you. ((hug))

Your collection is beautiful. I use my cardholder to keep my work pass secure. It would be cool to have the leopard card holder case though.

Giggle, I am 31 and I am still carded sometimes. It’s so funny but also in a way cool:) I like that I look younger. Btw: your cc holders are stunning. Hope you had a great weekend, darling and I am so pleased that you love the tea towels. Thank you for the note! Muah

Would love to be carded today. Actually we did go to a bourbon bar in Washington where they carded everyone and we just said thank you thank you – totally chuffed. Pretty purses!

Ooooh this sounds so familiar! One thing I definitely do not miss is that feelinf of dread when you’re walking up to the club entrance/bouncer.. These are beautiful though, I adore the blue one!

Cat Eyes & Skinny Jeans February 12, 2019 at 22:32

Ooh, I seriously want one on every color, print, and texture. The stingray embossing is exquisite!!

I actually had no idea it was called carded. This is such a great gift idea as well! Looks lovely.
