Gajin Fujita is one of my favorite artists of recent years, so I’m looking forward to his show at L.A. Louver, which opens tomorrow featuring Fujita’s works on paper made over the past 7 years. The drawings portray geishas, demons, fish and flowers in a style influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e, modern day manga, American pop art and his East L.A. roots, creating a unique amalgamation of east meets west culture that could only exist today.

P.S. If you’re interested in learning more about collecting art, check out the Spring Schedule for The Fine Art of Art Collecting with Edward Goldman, art critic and host of KCRW’s “Art Talk”.

I couldn’t view the video, but I really love the piece you shared here so I just had to google him! So some of his murals and graffiti, he is really good. Would love to see the show, it would be interesting to see, he doesn’t seem limited to one medium like many artists.
