For no particular reason, earlier this month I got back on the wagon I fell off four years ago and have gone back to my strict veggie often vegan ways of the previous fourteen. It’s been strangely easy and I’d underestimated how much I missed my old recipes and have even picked up a few more good ones from lovely Terry Walters, who I interviewed a few years ago.

I simultaneously remembered the healthy beauty habits gleaned from years of Gurmukh’s weekly Women’s class. Body brushing {it makes your skin look better than any expensive cream}, followed by almond, castor and olive oil and other natural products have put my beauty editor impulses, ie gluttonous luxury product hoarding to shame. I won’t lie, it hasn’t been all kale leaves and coconut oil–the other night something called ‘A Good Girl’ {watermelon, jalapeno pepper and vodka} made a mockery of my re-embraced yogi tea swilling ways.

Obviously spartan austerity isn’t really my thing because I’ve also managed to find three fabulous new beauty products:

1) CBeauty’s Universal Beauty Oil No.1 by Christina Madera, made from Virgin Coconut Oil with Chamomile — there are 3 scents to chose from and this wonderful moisturizer will be coming to the U.S. market soon!

2) Laura Mercier’s Radiant Bronze Primer that gives a sunlit radiant glow, which is especially nice coming out of chilly temperatures and

3) Lydia Mondavi’s 29, an all natural, paraben free collection of grape seed based products available exclusively at Target. I’m seriously crushing on the wine blot lip balm — no pun intended.

* P.S. Beauty lovers, if these 3 beauty products and collections aren’t enough, today starting at noon, GILT will be showcasing an amazing assortment of beauty products from Laura Mercier including 6 exclusive, curated sets at up to 65% off retail prices!

What are your favorite beauty products of the moment?

My favourite beauty product at the moment is raw, organic shea butter. I stopped using lipstick a few months ago and have only been using shea butter as lip balm I also use it as body butter. And I’m looking forward to trying the RMS products. Also, I’ve recently met someone who makes natural perfumes and I just can’t wait to visit her atelier to learn more about the process and maybe find a perfume that suits me.

So many of these products you chose look so good. My facial skin has always been good, but in the last few months, it has started to look worse than ever. It is not that bad, really, but I suppose after never having anything on, even small blemishes bother me.
My diet is very good and healthy, so maybe it is just the winter months that are affecting it. I will have a closer look at your products and maybe find something that will suit me.

These are such brilliant product choices, I like the idea of trying body brushing, sounds useful! I enjoyed reading your opinion on my last post.

I’d been reading up on the benefits of dry brushing recently and just ordered a brush. Can’t wait to get started! Shu Uemura cleansing oil is a favorite of mine at the moment.

That’s awesome! Good for you! I’ve tried Laura Mercier’s honey body wash and one of her lotions. Decadent! I want to try her makeup. Thank you for these suggestions 🙂

My favourite is my Chanel serum and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I will check out the Lydia Modavi products at Target over here.
