There was something in the air during Paris Fashion Week. For some reason it just looked like people were having a lot more fun than at some of the other fashion weeks and I was loving the more relaxed street style.

It was also the first time Ralph Lauren showcased his work outside the U.S. and I thought I’d share some exclusive video footage I was sent of this week’s special presentation of the Ralph Lauren Fall Collection in Paris, where he announced his commitment to aid the restoration of the iconic Ecole Des Beaux-Arts. The show has a Russian vibe but the black gowns are Paris all the way. Enjoy!

What are your thoughts on the street style during Paris Fashion Week?

I always look forward to the Paris shows. It is interesting that the ladies were relaxed and casual in a place which has such a rich history of couture. Liu Wen and Anna Wintour looked fabulous!

Paris is always a good idea in terms of street style. I guess it truly is something in the air, inviting you to be more natural, to be yourself. Love your street style picks, most of them are on my Pinterest as well. 🙂 And thank you for the Ralph Lauren video (you know my soft spot): I think I’ll be thinking of that black gown with gaping V-neck and bare back for a long time. 🙂

I always look forward to Paris Fashion Week, for many reasons. The street-style is also a favourite. Hope you’re having a wonderful week

You are so right about Pris street style – it looks as if they are not trying too hard, unlike this year’s London crowd. When someone is trying hard to “look fashionable” they just look, well, sort of wrong.

I agree…the Paris show is so lovely and everyone looks so well together with such style an flair, but not over the top or silly. It’s my favourite. These were wonderful. Have a gorgeous day doll xox

I agree that the street style of PFW did look more relaxed. It was nice that people weren’t trying so hard. That’s so great that Ralph Lauren will be aiding in the restoration of the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts. I interned at RL during college and working at his shows was always a highlight.

Great feature, I loved seeing the unconventional outfits at PFW but I have to say LFW street style was my favorite for their innovation.

Thank you for sharing the video, Mary Jo! The clothes are absolutely stunning. I think Ada will love it, too, especially because his last collection was a bit disappointing and not very RL. As for Paris…. It inspired me and not only during PFW, but any time I visit. There’s something very special about this city.
